Import
We buy in volume from ingredient producers abroad and hold stock in the region, so our customers carry less of it.
Functional ingredients and custom blends
Ntura Ingredients supplies food and beverage manufacturers across Africa with the ingredients their products depend on, imported direct and blended at our own warehouse.
What we do
We import directly from established producers, and we mix and combine selected products at our own warehouse. You can buy the standard raw material and the ready-to-dose blend on the same order.

Blend
Selected products are mixed and combined into stabiliser systems, premixes and functional blends built around your recipe and process.
Deliver
One supplier, one order, one set of paperwork. Every delivery arrives with the documents your quality team needs.
Product range
Ten ingredient groups, supplied as single raw materials or built into a blend. Pick a group to see what is in it.
E-numbers shown where one applies. The range is indicative. If you use it in your plant, ask us for it.

A share of what we sell leaves our warehouse as something different from what arrived: a blend that is ready to dose, made to a specification we agree with you and repeated batch after batch.

How we work
Five steps sit between an overseas producer and a finished product on your line. We run all of them.
We select producers on specification, batch consistency and the quality of their food safety documentation.
Shipments are consolidated, cleared and warehoused locally, so product is on the ground before you need it.
Where a blend serves you better than single ingredients, we produce it at our warehouse to a fixed written specification.
Each batch is checked against its specification and released with its certificate of analysis and supporting paperwork.
Product reaches your factory in pack sizes that suit your production run, with follow-up from someone who knows your process.
Quality and food safety
A food manufacturer answers for every ingredient in its product. We supply on that basis.
We buy from producers chosen on specification, consistency and food safety certification.
Lot numbers are tracked from import, through blending, to the delivery note on your receiving dock.
Every blend is made to a written specification agreed with the customer before first supply.
Clean, dry, segregated warehousing with allergen control in handling and blending.
A sample of each blended batch is kept so any query can be traced and answered.

Contact usAbout Ntura
Ntura was founded by two people who met the same problem from opposite sides: one running production, the other supplying and formulating for it.
About the name. Ntura comes from -ntu, the root for "person" shared by the Nguni, Shona, Sotho and Venda languages. It is a regional name for a regional business.
Our strategy
Global distributors offer range and laboratories a continent away. We compete on what a manufacturer here feels every week: whether the product is on the ground, whether the blend can change when the recipe does, and whether someone who understands the plant picks up the phone.
We import from producers in volume and warehouse in the region, so supply does not depend on the next vessel.
Custom systems are produced at our warehouse and adjusted locally when a recipe or a process changes.
Stabilisers to sweeteners from one supplier, on one order, with one set of paperwork.
Help with ingredient selection, dosage and troubleshooting comes as part of the supply.
A pre-weighed blend means less to buy, store and dose, fewer weighing errors and more consistent batches.
Food grade supply stands on its paperwork. Every batch is traceable and released with its certificate of analysis.

Our vision
To be the first call for food manufacturers across Africa when they need an ingredient supplied or a formulation solved.
Our mission
To keep our customers' lines running with reliable supply of food grade ingredients, practical technical support and blends that perform on the factory floor.
The founders
Co-Founder
Tawanda is a mechatronics engineer with a background in FMCG manufacturing at South African Breweries (SAB) and automation experience from his time at BBC and Siemens.
He knows what a production line asks of its suppliers: material that arrives on time, meets specification and behaves the same way in every batch. At Ntura he leads operations, supply chain and the engineering of our warehouse and blending processes.
Co-Founder
Mehluli has more than a decade of experience in food grade chemical supply and in research and development for flavours, stabilisers and other functional ingredients.
He has spent that time matching ingredients to applications and getting formulations to work in production. At Ntura he leads technical sales, product development and the formulation of our custom blends.
Between us we have stood on both sides of the purchase order. Ntura is the supplier we wanted to buy from.
